Guilty Plea Prompts Cloud to Call on Dicks for Action

Cloud Responds to Former PMA Group Head's Guilty Plea, Wants Explanation from Dicks

TACOMA, WA – The Doug Cloud for US Congress campaign today released the following statement made by Doug Cloud, candidate for U.S. Congress WA-06, in response to former head of the PMA Group, Paul Magliocchetti's pleading guilty to corruption charges:

"It's time the people get some answers from Congressman Dicks on his involvement with the PMA Group," said Cloud.  "It's unfortunate that he has repeatedly chosen not to respond to questions that have risen about his connection to the group and their corruption."

Congressman Dicks has been reported as being the third highest recipient, at $26,700, of Magliocchetti's personal contributions for steering defense contracts. He also ranks on the top ten list of total campaign contributions that the PMA Group paid out by receiving more than $530,000.

"It just doesn't add up.  If the Congressman has nothing to hide, then he should want to clear his name and tell the public what's gone on here, because it doesn't look good," said Cloud.  "The people deserve to hear from their Representative.  That's part of the responsibility of an elected official; you have an obligation to answer to the people who hired you and pay your salary."

"In light of Paul Magliocchetti's guilty plea to corruption, I think the Congressman has an obligation to return all of the campaign donations connected to the PMA Group, and work to rescind the hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks that were awarded to any organization or company connected to the PMA Group."

  1. While serving on active duty in the Navy the only favorable thing I can say about Congressman Norm Dicks was his being instrumental in bringing the USS Nimitz to the Naval Shipyard Bremerton in 1986, for that and that alone I say, Thank You! I served onboard the USS Nimitz from April 1986 to September 1990 when I retired from active duty. The Military has a very big presence in Washington; McChord-Lewis Joint Military Base, Bangor Naval Base, Bremerton Naval Shipyard, Naval Station Everett, Fairchild Air Force Base and countless other small to medium sized military support activites throughout Washington along with the Coast Guard and US Marine Corp. Yes, he has been a very loud voice to keep the military active in Washington.

Congressman Dicks has been in office entirely too long and his ability to listen to and present issuse have not, in my estimation, been in the true interest of his constituants. Not everyone is "big Business" or military. Everyone in the 6th Congressional District should be afforded equal opportunities and to be heard.

If ever there was a time for change that time is NOW, Congressman Dicks needs to explain fully his involvment with and ties to the PMA Group. If the table were turned, he'd want a full explanation of our ties and would stop at nothing to get answers. Time to hold him both accountable and responsible for his actions

  7. Yeah Congressman Norm Dicks needs to be fired! Plus I honestly have to say that this man has been in DC way too long he's really out of touch with his congressional district and has been seduced by the corrupt union organizations, lobbyist, and big business. Finally Congressman Norm Dicks needs to be voted out of office for the simple fact that he helped pass that "Health Care Deform" legislation.

  9. Not only has Norm been a yes man for Nancy but Norm has tried to stack the books frequently at Town Hall Meetings, his staff has lied to constituents at Norm's request, bailed out of meetings with critques, and many other things. Norm has for some time now opened his doors to the highest bidder, along with his staunch ali Patty Murray. They both must go.

Let's hope Norm and Nancy go down the same road that leads to political obscurity.
    God help US.

  11. I navigated over to congressman norm Dicks web site to see what the opposition has to say? To my utter amazement on his blog portion of his website all the links to make a comment are turned off. I are really find it funny that the congressman will not allow for his constituents whether they support him or not afford them the opportunity to comment on his website. You know it just shows that the congressman is too busy to be bothered by us small people in his congressional district. You have to fall under these categories in order to get his attention. First category you would have to be a head of a corrupt union organization. Second category big business as in aerospace industrial or department defense subcontractor. Third category a self serving spineless lobbying organization. Fourth category his political party. If you don't fall under these categories you more not even show up as a blip on his is priority radar.Oh hey Doug Cloud if you wanna know what Norm Dicks is doing over at Everett it's not to celebrate Boeing's tanker contract he is there to buy votes, bribe some people, and to hire some thugs to keep us opposing constituents in line.

The man cannot stand up to opposition we know that for the fact of him stacking the deck at town hall meetings. He will not explain the misconduct surrounding the lobbying ordeal. Most of all he believes unlike most other career politicians he's been there for so long he thinks of him self as a political elite can't be touched. Well this November we have to show him.

  12. I called Dicks' office and their IT guy messed up so the comment section is back on. So stop making such a big deal about nothing. It is easy to hide behind an anonymous blog and throw bombs at people isn't it. I think Cloud if full of it by trying to make a big deal about an another anonymous person claming to be in the military and taking a shot at Dicks.

  13. You should look into the dealings Norm has with kitsap transit management and find out how much money Norm Dicks and Patty Murray have given to kitsap transit for foot ferriers that the tax payers voted down 2 times. Yep Kitsap Transit and Norm and Patty ignored the voters and are buliding foot ferries worth millions and get this one they can't use one now because it will make to much of a wake. I think it's about 10 million down the drain. Check into that. I haven't heard anything in awhile about it.

Let me guess Your name is Anonymous right? Oh and you called old Norm's office got things straighten out with the staff and there IT guy right?

I don't think so the comment tags are still off and I think thats a good thing for Congressman Dicks because I believe that the congressman can not handle true opposition from his constituents.
But if they do decide to turn comment tags on his "spineless lackeys" and I mean his staff will simply edit them or delete them if any of the comments are in opposition of their beloved congressman.
